A satirical take on what happens when the caped crusaders we idolise get a free hand with their powers, it\u2019s safe to say that the Amazon Prime Video original could not have come at a better time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With characters like Homelander, an all-American superhero with a smile that dazzles his fans, to the religious small-town girl, Starlight, The Boys<\/em> introduced the world to \u201cThe Seven\u201d, a group of \u201csupes\u201d we love to hate. But behind the scenes, a stellar cast of more underrated characters helps us understand what exactly could go wrong when superhumans are more revered than Gods themselves. Characters such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frenchie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An integral part of the vigilante group, \u201cThe Boys\u201d, whose sole purpose is to fight superheroes who abuse their power, Frenchie is the kind of guy you\u2019d see in a shady alley in CCTV footage. A former assassin\/arms dealer, who is prone to fits of violence, Frenchie\u2019s true purpose only emerges when he rescues a mysterious woman from a cage, and goes on to form a strong bond with her, despite a number of language barriers. The character is a bit of a wildcard, given that no one is sure what he\u2019ll do next. But that\u2019s also a trait that makes him a highly under-appreciated member of the cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother\u2019s Milk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another key member of The Boys<\/em>, Mother\u2019s Milk, doesn\u2019t really get the love he deserves. Despite constantly standing up for his friends, even when they don\u2019t deserve it, while still being a methodical stone faced-killer, he is consistently placed on the sidelines. Mother\u2019s Milk, or Marvin T Milk, though remains an essential part of the group considering his calm demeanor seems to be the only counter to Billy Butcher\u2019s chaotic and violent tendencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Train<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first installment of the show, A-Train was introduced as the main villain of the story after inadvertently killing an integral character of the show. In this season, too, A-Train doesn\u2019t have the best reputation after it emerges that he\u2019s addicted to the drug that Vought uses to make superheroes. As he faces his reckoning , it becomes clear that there are several shades to every character in this series, and no one can be ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Female<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most badass superheroes in this series is not a part of \u201cThe Seven\u201d but a mysterious young woman, who was taken captive by the superheroes. The Female, who also goes by Kimiko, doesn\u2019t speak at all, a characteristic attributed to childhood trauma. But even through the silence, she manages to form a strong bond with Frenchie \u2014 and as season 2 has proved, turns out to be one of the most important characters in the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ashley Barrett<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All through the first two seasons, Ashley Barrett, the hapless manager of \u201cThe Seven\u201d, has been consistent in her role. Having to tackle the demands of a group of superhuman divas while also trying to make them look good in the public eye, is no easy task. But Barrett\u2019s crisis management skills are a masterclass in how to perform under pressure, and also make her one of the show\u2019s most under-appreciated characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The side cast of The Boys<\/em>, much like the main characters, have enough backstory to fill up a few shows all by themselves.
