ear Sexual Abuser who never got reported,<\/span>\n\nYou know who you are, even if the cops don\u2019t. I hope this finds you well. Actually, I don\u2019t. You\u2019re probably living a blissful life, completely oblivious to the trauma you\u2019ve given people who\u2019ve done nothing to deserve it. I\u2019m sure you\u2019re lounging on that couch as you watch television, the one you assaulted her on. Still doesn\u2019t make you feel guilty, does it? Knowing you, you\u2019re also sipping beer as you keep up with the <\/span>#MeToo<\/span><\/a> stories on social media, celebrating the fact that you didn\u2019t get caught.<\/span>\n\nAs one of those girls, I\u2019d like to remind you of something. It\u2019s been seven years since you put your hands on my bare skin and took <\/span>advantage<\/span><\/a> of the fact that I froze and did not say no. Do you remember that? Even when I tried to walk away, you pulled me back with a harder grip. I\u2019ve not gotten over it, but I\u2019ve had to move on. And so will every other person you\u2019ve done this to. Life goes on, at least for us. <\/span>\n\nYou\u2019ve pushed me into a downward spiral \u2013 I\u2019m terrified of any kind of physical affection now. After that incident, I\u2019ve had to navigate through feelings of guilt, shame, and humiliation for years. And you got a free pass. I didn\u2019t speak up. But it\u2019s not like when we do, we get any justice. \u201cSpeak up, or he\u2019ll assume you\u2019re okay with it,\u201d they say. I wonder if physically moving away from you wasn\u2019t enough of a hint. Is verbally telling you no the only way I can get you to stop? \u201cThis happens everyday,\u201d you\u2019d say.\u201cI didn\u2019t rape you, it was just a little bit of <\/span>molestation<\/span><\/a>.\u201d But just because I didn\u2019t report you, I had no proof, and because it wasn\u2019t rape, does it make it okay?<\/span>\n\nI know it makes you elated that even in the age of <\/span>#MeToo<\/span><\/a>, women are still scared to speak up. Are you thinking about whether you can get away by messing with a few more girls? Don\u2019t risk it. You see, it\u2019s a matter of time. It won\u2019t be long before the next girl speaks and the rest of us will be there backing her up. Look what happened with <\/span>Tanushree Dutta<\/span><\/a>. It may have taken her 10 years to reignite the complaint she\u2019d made in 2008, but now that her account is out there, there\u2019s no going back. With Utsav Chakraborty being outed and many more stories coming to light over the last few days, it\u2019s #MeToo all over again. For me and for several other victims. The floodgates have opened. <\/span>\n\n

So we\u2019re ready to start doing it ourselves. Our safety is in our own hands now.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\nBut this time, it\u2019ll be different. This time, with so much more support, we\u2019ve got thousands of people willing to make sure their harassers do not get away. We\u2019re not scared to call you out anymore. <\/span>\n\nYou see, we\u2019ve learned how to move on from the pain and those <\/span>traumatic<\/span><\/a> memories. And we\u2019ve also learned that we cannot rely on the world to change for us. So we\u2019re ready to start doing it ourselves. Our safety is in our own hands now. <\/span>\n\nSo that couch you\u2019re sitting on? I want you to think long and hard about what you <\/span>did there<\/span><\/a>.
