It is fraught with more competition than an entire season of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roadies<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. But, like a true <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Khatron Ke Khiladi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Akshay Kumar won the competition by invoking the powers of potty. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His latest release, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arre.co.in\/humour\/toilet-ek-prem-katha-akshay-kumar-bhumi-pednekar-swachh-bharat-abhiyaan-india\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toilet: Ek Prem Katha<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, stars him as Keshav, a Mathura resident, who starts a mini-revolution by insisting on building a toilet in every house after his wife complains about the perils of defecating in the fields, as part of the \u201clota party\u201d. In Kumar\u2019s hands, what could have been a \u201csatire\u201d that could goad people into understanding the gravity of India\u2019s sanitation crisis, ultimately becomes a dishonest paean to the greatness of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The film is so ignorant of facts that a more appropriate name for it would have been <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fan.<\/span><\/i>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike Union Minister <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SuPriyoBabul\/status\/894867310560681984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&#038;ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.firstpost.com%2Findia%2Fchandigarh-stalking-case-bjps-babul-supriyo-questions-abduction-charge-calls-incident-mischief-3913069.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Babul Supriyo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who tweeted about how the Chandigarh stalking incident wasn\u2019t a case of \u201cabduction\u201d but the romantic \u201cmischief\u201d of a drunk boy chasing a girl he likes, and earned himself saffron points, Kumar\u2019s strategy was longer than 140 characters. It lasted a full three hours. <\/span>\t\t\t\n\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toilet: Ek Prem Katha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Akshay Kumar\u2019s Keshav not only proved the hypothesis echoed by a horde of BJP ministers that \u201cpyaar stalking hota hai\u201d, but he also one-upped Babul Supriyo by showing him that actions speak louder than tweets. His actions involved making a girl fall in love with him after relentlessly stalking her for days, photographing her without permission, and then using those pictures to advertise his cycle shop. That man was none other than the Accidental Prime Minister, Anupam Kher, aka, the human version of a love letter that is perennially addressed to Mr Modi. In this case, Kumar gave the world a masterclass in surgical strikes by following the adage \u201cKeep your friends close but your enemies closer.\u201d Being fully aware of Kher\u2019s popularity and devotion toward cleansing the country of anti-nationals, Kumar cast him in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toilet: Ek Prem Katha <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as the older \u201ckakka\u201d with a penchant for Sunny Leone, and a hobby of waxing eloquent about the great lengths the government is going to make India the autocratic equivalent of Narnia. <\/span>\n\n<blockquote class=\"quote--center\"><p>Pandey may not be a Mrs Funnybones, but he certainly knows how to invoke Kumar\u2019s patriotic bones. <\/p><\/blockquote> \n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although Kher managed to give a convincing performance as himself, heightened by his rousing speeches on deshbhakti, it unfortunately wasn\u2019t enough to counter the wall of Sunny Leone-induced horniness that was granted to his character. In a country where even <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/trending\/trending-in-india\/peacock-national-bird-celibate-rajasthan-hc-judge-twitter-reactions-4682921\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">peacocks<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> don\u2019t have sex, how can a man with a hard on ever be Bhakt No 1?<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After Anupam Kher\u2019s untimely elimination, the stage was set for Akshay Kumar to win. And win he did. As Keshav, the actor tirelessly pursued government agenda on the back of good old potty. He addresses problems of open defecation, the woeful conditions of sanitation plaguing rural India, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dutifully throws around words from a government-approved checklist. For instance, he asks a journalist who presents a controversial question if she works for a foreign channel, and by extension is a member of the #FakeNews Club. Then, he hits a home run by sneakily plugging in mentions of PM Modi\u2019s kryptonite: demonetisation. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen our prime minister can stop currency notes, why can&#8217;t we stop our bowels?\u201d The question is deep and the answer may take us generations to find. During the entirety of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toilet: Ek Prem Katha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Kumar manages to scrub our government so clean that any and every Harpic ad shames itself in comparison. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, Akshay Kumar\u2019s descent into bhaktdom isn\u2019t a new occurrence. His entry into the world of \u201cPM Modi is the best Modi ever\u201d started when he met his work wife, Neeraj Pandey. In <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special 26<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, their first baby together, Kumar played a CBI officer in love with his country. In their next adventure, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Baby<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, he is a part of a special task force and in love with his country. And, finally, in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arre.co.in\/pop-culture\/naam-shabana-review-akshay-kumar-taapsee-pannu-bollywood-manoj-bajpayee-anupam-kher-shivam-nair\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Naam Shabana<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, their last outing that released this year, Akshay Kumar once again played an Indian agent so in love with his country that he ended up shortchanging the woman lead\u2019s screen time in the film. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pandey may not be a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arre.co.in\/pop-culture\/twinkle-khanna-koffee-with-karan-bollywood-ae-dil-hai-mushkil-kajol\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs Funnybones<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but he certainly knows how to invoke Kumar\u2019s patriotic bones. His influence is such that it transcends to the actor\u2019s other films as well, like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where he plays an Indian soldier who doesn\u2019t even rest on a holiday. There&#8217;s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Airlift<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where he plays an Indian living in Kuwait, but secretly singing \u201cmera bharat mahaan\u201d. The film, which is an ode to PM Modi\u2019s pet cause of sanitation and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, is inspired from a real-life incident of Anita Narre, a newly wed who left her in-law\u2019s house because it didn\u2019t have a toilet. While the film implies that her toilet revolution happened after the BJP government came to power, and is a result of Modiji\u2019s magical existence, in reality, it happened way back in 2011. It takes an ultimate bhakt to negate facts and logic, and just run with their version.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While launching the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Modi once famously said, \u201cBuild toilets first, temples later.\u201d With <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toilet: Ek Prem Katha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Akshay Kumar seems to counter
