Dear Bollywood, Enough With the Item Girls. Where Are the Item Boys?

Item girls shimmied their way into Bollywood back in the ’40s and there’s been no looking back ever since. Think Madhuri Dixit in “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai” and Malaika Arora in “Munni Badnam Hui”. But where are our item boys? What is stopping Bollywood from tapping into the sea of testosterone?

Is Poo Kareena Kapoor’s Most Overrated Character?

Like many millennials of my generation, I once idolised Kareena Kapoor as Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... But I have done a lot of growing-up since then.

In Josh-Filled 2019 Would Main Hoon Na, Bollywood’s Masala Movie on the Military, Find Any Takers?

Dear Shah Rukh Khan, How Many Times Did You Stop Yourself from Rolling Your Eyes at David Letterman?

In the Shah Rukh Khan episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, David Letterman struggles to get DDLJ right, and asks aloud which country SRK’s father fought against for India’s freedom. It’s embarrassing and cringe-worthy, and I’m amazed the audience didn’t immediately break into a chorus of boos.

Dear Bollywood, Why Are You So Star-Struck?

At a party thrown by Farah Khan, Ed Sheeran was seen awkwardly posing with people he had never met before. What’s it with our Bollywood actors metamorphosing into selfie-crazed fans the minute they spot a Hollywood celeb?

I am Obsessed With Decoding Celebrity Airport Looks and I Can’t Lie

The reason I’m so addicted to celebrity airport looks is the same reason why I have sat through every Roadies audition ever: There’s nothing more fun than witnessing a group of people go out of their way to make themselves uncomfortable.

Why We Indians Are Nothing Like Our National Animal

Is the tiger the correct choice for our national animal? Maybe not. Because we are nothing like the tiger. A lazy panda is what we should’ve picked.

Is the Myth of Shah Rukh Khan All That is Left of SRK?

There is really no reason to be a SRK fan in 2019. Except to serve the myth of Shah Rukh Khan, the guy who charms on demand and romances with abandon. But is there all that is left of him?

“Main Shah Rukh Khan Banna Chahta Hoon”: John Cena

If his social media handles are any indication, WWE’s biggest star, John Cena, is making a pitch to enter Bollywood – waiting in the wings for his “phata poster, nikla hero” moment.

Ijaazat: Bollywood’s Finest Take on Love, Marriage, and Adultery

Gulzar’s Ijaazat can tell you almost everything you need to know about love and marriage. It reminds you that falling in love is an instinct beyond our wilful control. And that an “extramarital affair” is often a reductive way to define what might be an inescapable maze of emotions and sense of responsibility.
